DDHS representatives, Denise Frank, Laurie Inglis & Gretchen deGruy along with TDHA Lobbyist, Brad Shields at the 2009 TDHA Legislative Awareness Day in Austin, TX. On February 23, 2009, RDH's & DH Students from all over Texas visited Representatives and Senators at the Capitol in an effort to obtain support for:
- SB 536 & HB 168: Legislation allowing dentists to delegate to a properly trained RDH administration of Local Anesthesia.
AND
- SB 97 & HB 456: Legislation which would expand current law to increase locations RDH's can enter to include Head Start Centers, Community Health Centers and any other Texas State Board of Dental Examiners approved facility, and to increase the number of times an RDH can provide preventive services to a patient in one of these facilities during a one year period.
