We are the local component of the Texas constituent to the American Dental Hygienists' Association. Dallas Dental Hygienists' Society is a professional organization offering continuing education to Registered Dental Hygienists and providing public service programs to our community since 1952.
Mission StatementTo improve the public's total health, the mission of the American Dental Hygienists' Association is to advance the art and science of dental hygiene by ensuring access to quality oral health care, increasing awareness of the cost - effective benefits of prevention, promoting the highest standards of dental hygiene education, licensure, practice, and research, and representing and promoting the interests of dental hygienists. |
Serving Our Community :
Dental Health Education Programs
Educational oral health programs presented to area Nursing homes, public schools and volunteer dental clinics.
Health Fairs And Community Events
Providing education, prevention skills and oral health counseling for the prevention of oral and dental diseases.
Career Day
Promoting Dental Hygienists as a desired career of choice to local area high school students.
Elementary School Oral Health Awareness
Presenting Dental Health Education in local elementary schools to students and teachers.
Children's Oral Health Center
Providing the Children's Oral Health Center with volunteer Dental Hygienists to deliver dental hygiene services and place dental sealants for underprivileged children. Dallas Dental Hygienists' Society members donate time to serve children by participating in "Sealants Across Texas". Members continue to donate time to serve our community throughout the year by serving the Children's Oral Health Center in downtown Dallas.
Cooperation with the Dental Society
Dallas Dental Hygienists' Society has participated with the Dental Society in community service. Dallas Dental Hygienists' Society has an active role in the Southwest Dental Conference for 2008.
Dental Screenings
Dallas Dental Hygienists' Society continues to serve by providing no cost screenings for oral cancer and disease prevention to facilities and underserved areas.
Area Dental Hygiene Schools
Our Society continues to work closely with area dental hygiene schools. For many years our area dental hygiene schools have served our community by providing low cost dental hygiene services to the public.
